TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT LEAD

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the supervision of the Department Head – Enterprise Procurement, the Technical Procurement Lead has the responsibility to plan, coordinate, and execute procurement activities for the acquisition of technical and non-technical goods and services for enterprise across the GOJ. His/her responsibilities will extend to the strategic review and assessment of ICT programmes in the Government of Jamaica to ensure a coordinated and coherent approach to the acquisition and deployment of ICT assets. The incumbent will also be required to assess ICT submissions from GOJ entities in order to provide expert advice.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Department Head – Procurement in the development of the Division’s corporate operational plans.
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual budget for all capital and recurrent expenditure for the Division in accordance with the organization’s operational goals and objectives.
  • Prepares operational work plans for the Procurement Department.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ management experience in a similar or related capacity.
  • Experience in the procurement of goods and services in the private or public sector would be an asset. 
  • Training in Procurement Management would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of government procurement policies and procedures.
